Checkpoint 1: My First Blog Post

My name is Justin Aranda and I am a 17 year old student athlete that attends Summit Public Schools: Shasta. I like to think that I am very active person because I have a played a wide range of sports during the time. I have spent on this Earth. I have played basketball, soccer, baseball, cross country and volleyball. Currently I am enrolled in a AP U.S. Government class and in this class we were tasked with figuring out our political typology.

For AP Government, my class learned about political typology. From what I have learned, political typology is a system that categorizes people based on their political beliefs and values. To determine my political typology, I took a survey where the questions that I had to answer helped me understand how I viewed certain political issues. After completing this survey I was placed into the category of Next Generation Left.

According to the website, the Next Generation Left is describes as someone who is, "Generally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy." Personally I believe that the description of this person describes me. I see myself as a young teen who wants to make a lot of changes to this "corrupted" world but I don't have the power nor the knowledge to make a change. I stand by the category it gave me and I was able to read about certain issues and see how I would react to them based on the answers I gave.

  2. I'm really in love with the format of your website, but still not as much as I love you. Anyways, it was really interesting to see where you fall on the political spectrum, and how my political typology compares to yours!

  3. The format of your website is very clean and your visuals do justice to your defined muscles. What more can you tell me about being Next Gen Left?
